A State of Teal

AL - A State of Teal logo

Picture5Alabama will be A State of Teal in September for GYN Cancer Awareness. For more information about A State of Teal, click here or visit A State of Teal’s Facebook page.

The CanSurvive GYN Cancer Support Group, the Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation, and the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation worked diligently to arrange for prominent buildings in Birmingham and the surrounding municipalities to be lit in teal for part or all of September. Many of these were visible from the site of our awareness ceremony, which was in Birmingham this year. The Governor, Birmingham mayor, and surrounding cities’ mayors will also signed GYN Awareness Proclamations. The Alabama State Capitol Building was lit in teal, as will the RSA Tower in Montgomery. We have contacted people in other areas of the state and they are also arranging for teal lightings and/or teal ribbons promoting awareness. Participating buildings and municipalities are being listed on the website.
